 OUR STORY

1904-1918
Edwin Charles Kreamer began producing hand-plaited stockwhips having served his time as an apprentice whip maker with Clarke & Sons. The business grew to employ 20 staff.
1918-1927
The business had declined to the point where Edwin had to take a job with the tramways while continuing to produce whips on a part-time basis.

1936-1945
Edwin’s youngest son Albert finished school. He converted a fernhouse in the backyard of the family home in Enfield into a workshop from which he began producing whips on a full-time basis.
1945-1957
Albert registered Kra-Mar in partnership with brother Valentine John (Jack) and sister Mary Kathleen (Kath). Together they purchased the asset of a bankrupt leather goods factory that produced gun holsters and knife pouches and started producing dog collars as well as importing a basic range of pet accessories and petcare products to wholesale to the market.
1966-1986
Kra-Mar saw consistent increases in sales year on year moving to bigger warehouses to eventually reside at a factory in Villawood.

1989-2004
Albert’s children Ed Kreamer and Frances Kreamer were appointed CEO and CFO. Through this period the business experienced dramatic growth due to the development of Proprietary and Exclusive Agency brands that expanded across the mass and grocery channels as well as the growing pet speciality market at the time. Kra-Mar’s team of 90 employees led the market with leading products and service.

2004-2010
Relocated to a 9000sqm purpose built warehouse in Smeaton Grange, Sydney. At this point the business was established as a leading supplier of pet accessory and pet care products nationally. The business was acquired by Nestle in 2010.

2021-Present
Ed’s youngest son Matt Kreamer registered the company KraMar Imports and took over the Australian distribution of the Andis Grooming range from Nestle with a specific focus on pet grooming equipment and education.
